We will be open for the 2012 season!!!

In January an article ran in the Patriot News that provided misleading information. The author of the article was misinformed. There is nothing wrong with the Pool’s septic system. Rather, it is the way in which the pool water leaves the property.
The Pool was built 52 years ago and was designed to allow any pool water that is drained from the pools to flow through a storm drain system. Due to more recent requirements we have been asked to redirect this water to the public sewage system. The Township is partnering with the Pool in addressing this change in water flow. The modification will be made prior to opening day.

Our daily walk-in rate is as follows:

$8 per person per day. All who enter must pay admission.
Children 3 and under are free

AFTER 5:00 pm the price is $4.00 per person and children 3 and under are still free.

As the swimming season approaches we would like to remind all members and daily walk in guests to please follow all Koon's Pool rules and regulations. These are all set in place so that everyone can get a enjoyable experience from their times spent at the pool.

Some easy ones to remember:

* Always walk, no running!
* No diving in lap pool or any shallow water.
* All children in diapers must wear swim diapers, for your convenience we have some available for purchase.
* Baby pool is for children 5 years and under, older children playing with their siblings will be allowed as long as they are not running & splashing other babies or children. We do however reserve the right to ask any older children to please leave the baby pool for the younger children.
* No smoking is allowed in any fenced in area of Koon's Pool. Smoking is not allowed outside the front gate at any time, please smoke near the designated smoking area and please be kind and dispose of cigarettes.
* We are a family pool, so please no foul language or disruptive behavior.
* No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
* Proper swimming attire is required.
* A membership or a daily walk in fee must be paid for anyone to enter into Koon's Pool. No exceptions.
* All children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by a adult.
* Parking for pool patrons is available along the road, and the lower parking lot at the corner of Balthazer Street. No parking is allowed in the small lot by the entrance.

A list of all Pool rules and regulations are posted around pool area. If you have any questions or concern please ask to speak with the pool manager.

We will be open Saturday June 4th and Sunday June 5th, from 12-8pm. We will then begin the season by opening Friday June 10th!

For one day only, buy a family membership for $250 and receive a $50 Hornung's Hardware gift card!! 2011 Membership Rates

The Board has decided that in these tough economic times, that we will keep our Family Membership Rate at $250. We will also keep our single membership at $160! We will be updating the membership application link shortly. In the meantime, feel free to still use that application and use the amounts stated!!

We will be Opening Memorial Day weekend! Saturday, May 28 & Sunday May 29 admission will only be $2.00 per person and children 3 and under are free! On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, we will offering FREE ADMISSION to everyone! So tell everyone you know!

New Hours of Operation for 2011 Season!

This season we will be opening at 12:00 on Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's, Saturday's & Sunday's! We will open at 1:00 on Monday's and Friday's! So the hours will look like this:

Sunday- 12:00 to 8:00 pm
Monday- 1:00 to 8:00 pm
Tuesday- 12:00 to 8:00 pm
Wednesday- 12:00 to 8:00pm (if a private party is booked, proper notice will be given and a closing time of 6:00pm)
Thursday- 12:00 to 8:00 pm
Friday- 1:00 to 8:00 pm
Saturday- 12:00 to 8pm

As always in case of questionable weather, please call ahead of time!

July 5th!!! Fireworks Swim!!

Come join us for a "Special Event" on July 5th! Starting at 6:00 pm you can come in and enjoy a refreshing night swim, you won't have to worry about finding a great place to sit for the Fireworks, because you will already have the best seats in Linglestown.... inside the pool on your lounge chair!! We will have our concession stand open with some delicious foods!!!

Pricing is as follows....

Family Campout Night August 7th!!!

You ask for it, and here it is!!! Join us for our 2nd Family Camp out! Starting at 6pm, Friday, August 7th and ending at 9am, Saturday, August 8th!!!

Join the fun, games, night swim, and Smores by the fire! Then off to sleep in your tent!! Enjoy homemade food at the concession stand including but not limited to...BBQ, Baked Beans, and Pasta Salad!!

Family Fun Nights with Night Swims!!!

***Movie Night is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th! The movie, Hotel for Dogs, starts @ 8pm, come enjoy the movie while swimming or floating on your raft! The cost is $3 per person or $15 for a family! Free Popcorn and our concession will be open!

***July 18th come and join us....dance and swim to your favorite tunes with our DJ!! The cost is $5.00 a person or $20.00 for a family!!!

***We are having so many requests to have another Family Camp Night at the pool, either July 31st or August 1st...please call the pool to let us know which date works better for all of you!!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! Over 500 people vistited Koon's Memorial Pool this holiday weekend!! A special thanks to the volunteers and staff that made this all possible!

The New Board of Directors have spring fever! Not only have they graciously donated their time every Monday night for Board Meetings, they are starting to get Koon's Pool ready for the upcoming season!!! The pools have been drained and the cleaning process has started! Next up is painting!

To start the season off the Board has voted to have a "Community Free Swim Weekend" That's right we are inviting everyone to come and swim FREE for the entire Memorial Day Weekend!!

Please remember that the Koon's Pool is not a township pool and is strictly funded by memberships and fundraisers! The Board of Directors volunteer their time to help out their community, they are not paid positions! Without them, Koon's Pool would not be able to open! So thanks so much to all of them!!!

We are asking the Community for help in order to keep the pool open! Any items that you would like to donate, outdoor toys for children, volleyballs, any outdoor games, anything fun to do outdoors! If you would also like to donate any of your time, even if it is just an hour to help with fundraising, cleaning, or anything else you could think of that would benefit the pool would be much appreciated! Please just email the pool to volunteer!!!!!!!

We are asking our local businesses to help us provide safe and fun alternatives for our children, teens, and families. We want to bring back the feeling of family with group camp outs, movie nights, concerts and just some plain old good times swimming with friends. Please consider making a donation in order to support our community pool!

Starting Friday, November 28th, Koons Pool will be selling Christmas Trees to help support the pool! You may stop by Walter's Tractor Service @ 6690 Linglestown Road any day of the week! We will also be selling Christmas Trees outside of Gander Mountain November 28, 29, &30th and also on December 5 &6th! Gander Mountain will be having terrific sales, along with a hot dog cart! So you grab some Christmas gifts, a hot dog, and your Christmas Tree all in one stop! Volunteers are needed so please donate a small amount of your time to help your community pool! Koons Memorial Pool is located at the corner end of Koons Park in Linglestown! We have been a local landmark for over 50 years! We offer a wading pool for kids under 5, a Lap Pool, a Diving pool that has a diving board and a Water Slide!!! Our Concession stand serves great food & drinks! We have clean restrooms with seperate changing and shower areas! Please feel free to stop by this summer!!!
